Not sure which roast is right for you?
Light, medium, and dark roast coffee each offer a different flavor experience. There is no single "best" roast—just the one that fits your taste and your routine.
At BluBrewCo, coffee is roasted to order by trusted roasting partners, then prepared for the way you like to brew: whole bean, ground coffee, or selected capsule options.
The quick guide
| If you enjoy... | Start with... |
|---|---|
| Bright, fruity, floral, or citrus-like flavors | Light roast |
| Balanced flavor, smoothness, and everyday versatility | Medium roast |
| Bold flavor, deeper roasted notes, and a fuller cup | Dark roast |
Light roast coffee
Light roasts are a good choice when you want to notice more of the coffee's natural character. You may find flavors that remind you of citrus, berries, flowers, tea, or honey. These coffees can taste lively and bright, making them a great fit for pour-over, drip coffee, or anyone who enjoys discovering subtle flavor differences.
Medium roast coffee
Medium roast is the all-around choice. It often brings together the coffee's natural flavor with familiar notes such as caramel, chocolate, nuts, and brown sugar. If you want a dependable everyday coffee that works well black or with a splash of milk, medium roast is an excellent place to start.
Dark roast coffee
Dark roasts are ideal for coffee drinkers who enjoy a bolder, richer cup. Expect deeper flavors such as dark chocolate, toasted nuts, cocoa, baking spice, and caramelized sugar. Dark roast often works especially well in French press, espresso-style drinks, or coffee served with milk or cream.
Does dark roast have more caffeine?
Not necessarily. A darker roast can taste stronger, but stronger flavor does not automatically mean more caffeine. The caffeine in a finished cup depends on the coffee used, the amount in your recipe, your brewing method, and how the coffee is extracted. Choose roast level for the flavor you enjoy most.
